Sunday, June 22nd, 2025
He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Manuel González performed like a veteran on the hill for the UCLA Bruins and walked away with the NCAA Roger Clemens Award in the process.
The 20-year-old Bruins star fashioned a 7-2 won-loss record in 2025 with a 1.51 ERA. In 71.2 innings of work and 12 starts, González struck out 87 while giving up 51 hits and 13 walks. He held opposing batters to a .198 average.
Chris Chamberlain of the Connecticut Huskies finished second in voting, while Scott King of the Connecticut Huskies finished third.
