5-Hit Blitz by Pensacola's McGilroy Thursday, June 18th, 2026 Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Dean Dome when Alan McGilroy of Pensacola scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Savannah Hogs. He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Pilots get by the Hogs 26-9. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the first baseman of the Pilots said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-for-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." Alan McGilroy singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, walked in the 7th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. So far this season McGilroy has hit .267 with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs and and scored 25 times. |
