Hernández Slaps 5 Hits Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Jorge Hernández -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Pilot Field and paced the Orcas to a 28-5 win over the Pensacola Pilots. After his dynamite batting performance the Nantucket center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Jorge Hernández singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Luis Pistoni in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and walked in a run in the 9th. Currently Hernández is batting .350 with 11 home runs, 46 RBIs and 55 runs scored. |
