APL Outstanding Hitter Award Goes to Perry
Thursday, October 22nd, 2026
With stellar statistics and an uncanny ability to lead his team to victory, many around Appalachian League felt Sean Perry was a shoo-in to be named most valuable player - except for the player himself.

"There's lots of great players in the league, I'm not so sure I deserve to be named among the best," he said.

But Perry has in fact been named the 2026 Appalachian League Outstanding Hitter Award winner.

The State College Spikes ace put up an impressive year, with a 21-6 record. In 33 starts he piled up 192 innings, had 207 strikeouts with 45 walks and a 2.44 ERA. Perry held opposing hitters to a .215 batting average and compiled a 6.3 WAR along the way.

Chance Santry of the Beaverton Bronze Souls finished second in voting, while Francisco Álvarez of the State College Spikes finished third.
