Bórquez Torches Spikes for 5 Hits Thursday, August 27th, 2026 5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Fernando Bórquez of the Dunedin Blue Jays had a sensational game against State College at Goodyear Field. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 15-2 shellacking of the Spikes. In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did ,it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off. Right, skipper?" Fernando Bórquez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th. So far this season Bórquez has put up a .275 batting average with 131 hits, 5 home runs and 66 RBIs. |
