John Drake of the Lee's Summit Tigers was injured in today's game against Barry's Bay and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is radial nerve compression and he is expected to be out for up to 8 months. It happened while Drake was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."

Presently Drake has a 8-5 mark in 29 starts with a 4.03 ERA. He has given up 140 hits in 143 innings, struck out 177 and issued 52 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .255 batting average against him.
