Columbia's Peña Chosen July's Best in MSL Saturday, August 1st, 2026 There's something about a young rookie winning the Midwest League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with José Peña, a 21-year-old starter for the Columbia 08s. In July, he topped off the month with a 3-0 mark and 2.08 ERA in 0 starts, tossed 21.2 innings, fanned 31 and held opposing teams to a .149 average.
