King Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026
After the Reading 13-12 victory over Newark and his 5-hit day second baseman Ron King told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 24-year-old player gained that distinction today at Paul Owens Stadium with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Newark Bulldogs. The skipper of the Rainbows spoke glowingly of King, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ron did that to perfection today." Ron King tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Russ Brown in the 8th and hit a two-
run single in the 9th.

King is hitting .248 in 2026 with 28 RBIs and 4 home runs.
