Tuesday, October 20th, 2026
For fans of the Penquannock Overrated Jeter, there was certainly no doubting the value of Santiago González this season.

Now the 29-year-old pitcher has an award to show just how valuable he was, as he's been named the 2026 Eastern League Outstanding Hitter Award winner.

His remarkable campaign saw him put up a 21-6 record. In 9 starts he piled up 179.2 innings, had 222 strikeouts with 62 walks and a 2.25 ERA. González held opposing hitters to a .191 batting average and compiled a 5.6 WAR.

Germano Labrego of the Reading Rainbows finished second in voting, while Erwin Entwistle of the Springfield Simpsons finished third.
