Iguanas Reliever Cole Injured Friday, August 28th, 2026 Chip Cole at first refused to leave today's Springfield-Kingston game after he suffered a torn back muscle while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Kingston reliever said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Cole out of action for 4 months. So far this year Cole has made 30 relief appearances with 1 save, thrown 48.2 innings and struck out 39 with a 1-1 record. |
