5-for-5 Day for Armstrong Saturday, August 1st, 2026 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Bobby Armstrong got one today. He scattered hits all over Kelly/Shorts Stadium to pace Kingston to a 10-0 victory over Mt Pleasant. The Mt Pleasant skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Armstrong hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Bobby Armstrong hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Armstrong has hit at a .264 clip with 57 hits, 8 home runs, 32 RBIs and 40 runs scored. |
