Injury Forces Marty Hendrickson Out
Sunday, August 2nd, 2026
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Marty Hendrickson of the Smashers knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Bismark Border Guards while running the bases. Because of a torn posterior cruciate ligament, the San Diego right fielder is expected to miss 9-10 months. Hendrickson was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
Thus far this season Hendrickson is hitting .270 with 15 home runs, 63 RBIs and 64 runs scored. He has 106 hits in 393 at-bats and has played in 107 games.
