Red-Hot Kimura Scorches Trappers Monday, September 14th, 2026 It was high-5 day at $5 Footlong Field, at least for Sadao Kimura of the Lansing Lugnuts. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Spokane Trappers, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Kimura smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Lansing still dropped the game 10-7. His manager said, "Sadao was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN writers, "Kimura bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame." Sadao Kimura singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, hit a two-run triple in the 9th and singled in the 12th. Kimura is presently hitting at a .254 pace with 11 home runs and 73 RBIs. He has played in 148 games and scored 68 times. |
