Villegas Belts 5 Hits
Sunday, September 13th, 2026
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is José Villegas of the Houston Hammertime. He tore up the Gresham Gold Souls to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the Houston 16-8 win today at TooLegit. "Villegas was a tough out today," the Gresham manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." José Villegas singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Villegas on the season is hitting .348 with 5 home runs. His stats include 94 RBIs and 69 runs scored.
