Denton 5-for-7 for Wisconsin Saturday, June 27th, 2026 After the Wisconsin 21-7 victory over Detroit and his 5-hit day right fielder John Denton told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 23-year-old player gained that distinction today at Saddlehorn Stadium with a spectacular 5 for 7 game against the Detroit X-Wings. The skipper of the Timber Rattlers spoke glowingly of Denton, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. John did that to perfection today." John Denton singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
