5-Hit Blitz by Perkins Sunday, September 6th, 2026 Matt Perkins exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Trenton Stadium. The Blueville second baseman had a field day in the 37-12 triumph over the Trenton Stars, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Perkins must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Matt Perkins hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and walked in the 9th. This season in 81 games, Perkins has hit at a .316 clip with 99 hits, 9 home runs, 52 RBIs and 64 runs scored. |
