Timber Rattlers Snap Helásquez's Streak at 20 Thursday, August 27th, 2026 It was the best of both worlds for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers today at County Stadium as they defeated the Indiana Hounds 7-2 and also ended Dave Helásquez's 20-game hitting streak. The 29-year-old Indiana first baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Dave, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Timber Rattlers skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Helásquez frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game." To date Helásquez has chalked up a .313 average with 11 home runs, driven in 69 runs and scored 61 times. |
