Pineda Tags Bulldogs for 5 Hits Friday, August 7th, 2026 The Privateers were defeated 18-15 today at East End Park by the Bulldogs, but you can't say Luis Pineda didn't give it his best try. The Privateers shortstop came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Pineda and a tough day for Portland. "I just go up there and swing away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." No plan or not, Pineda delivered today... 5-for-6 is outstanding in any league. Luis Pineda singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Kenshin Kubota in the 8th and walked in the 10th. So far this year Pineda is batting .276 with 9 home runs. |
