Valdéz Grabs CL Reliever of the Year Award Thursday, November 19th, 2026 2026 was a year to remember for José Valdéz. The Springfield Stars reliever was the owner of a 1.63 ERA this season over 104.2 innings of work. He made 82 relief appearances and had 49 saves, 129 strikeouts, 27 walks and a record of 10 wins and 2 losses. He's also now got some hardware, as the 29-year-old has been named the Continental League Reliever of the Year Award winner. "It's something I can tell my grandchildren some day, pretty special," he said. Francisco Ríos of the Greenville 84s finished second in voting, while António López of the Vista Panthers finished third. |
