Red-Hot Villa Scorches Frenzy
Tuesday, September 29th, 2026
5 hits in a game has always been a magic number in baseball. Only a handful of players will do that. Get 5 hits in a game, and you get your moment of glory, your fifteen minutes of fame -- you get your name in the record book. In the Beavers 8-4 win over Niagara Falls, Lorenzo Villa was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for a 5-hit game. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." On his big day Villa delivered 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Lorenzo Villa singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Luis López in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Nathan Thornton in the 9th.
For the year Villa is hitting .288 with 35 home runs. His stats include 113 RBI and 88 runs scored.
