5-for-5 Day for Merritt Saturday, September 19th, 2026 History in the making. That's what the fans at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark got to see today, when San Francisco outplayed the Knights 8-3. Scott Merritt of the Bandits came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against New York. In the postgame press conference the New York skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink." Scott Merritt singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off António Sánchez in the 9th. |
