26-Game Streak Ends, Concepción Hitless Friday, May 9th, 2025 Patriots left fielder Esteban Concepción went 0-for-4 today in John Jay HS's 6-2 triumph over the Spanish Fork HS, snapping his 26-game hitting streak. Concepción spoke to BNN after the game and said, "I knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later. I just would have preferred later." When he made an out in his last chance at bat, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. The Spanish Fork HS manager shrugged off the streak. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," he said. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here." Currently Concepción is batting .397 with 62 hits and 14 home runs. He has knocked in 54 runs and scored 43 times. |
