Castaneda Rips Bishop Gorman HS for 5 Hits
Friday, May 2nd, 2025
After the Oliver Ames HS 15-5 victory over Bishop Gorman HS and his 5-hit day third baseman David Castaneda told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 15-year-old player gained that distinction today at Carbines Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Bishop Gorman HS. The skipper of the Tigers spoke glowingly of Castaneda, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. David did that to perfection today." David Castaneda doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Chris Cantrell in the 6th, hit an RBI
single in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.

Batting .393 to date, Castaneda has 7 home runs and 32 RBIs.
