Núñez Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Friday, May 2nd, 2025 Georgia Tech's 19-year-old left fielder Rickey Núñez has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today Núñez extended the streak by going 2-for-5 against Bulldogs pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Núñez always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Yellow Jackets 8-1 triumph over Georgia at Russ Chandler Stadium he downplayed his part in the victory. Rickey Núñez singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 7th and grounded out in the 7th. In 2025 Núñez has hit at a .384 clip with 48 hits, 7 home runs, 24 RBIs and has scored 23 times. |
