8-Hit Blitz by Hill Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Will Hill -- a 8-hit day. He went on a rampage at Owen T. Carroll Field and paced the Blue Devils to a 40-9 win over the Seton Hall Pirates. After his dynamite batting performance the Duke right fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 8 hits in 9 tries and put his name in the record book. Will Hill singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Stan Wood in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Gerald Shaffer in the 8th. Hill is currently batting .405 with 15 home runs, 42 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has 49 hits in 121 at-bats. |
