Hits Galore: Herrera Drills 6 Hits Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 It was a sensational day at the plate for Jesús Herrera as he led the charge to a 40-9 win over the Pirates. The Duke catcher was pure misery for the Seton Hall pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 6 hits in 8 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Pirates told BNN reporters after the game, "Herrera put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Jesús Herrera hit an RBI single in the 1st, walked in a run in the 2nd, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. Herrera is hitting .280 this year with 3 home runs and 18 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .362, 10 walks and scored 21 times. |
