Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025
Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often. When it does it is something special to celebrate. And Ángel González of Texas can celebrate it. He is now a member of the select group of players, who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today at UFCU Disch-Falk Field against the Stanford Cardinal.

In all he was 3-for-4 as the Longhorns toppled Stanford 18-5, knocking in 8 runs and scoring 4 times.

González told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one."

His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air."

Ángel González walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Ramón Rivera in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Donald Blair in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Ben Stewart in the 7th.

This season González is batting .364 with 28 hits, 13 home runs, 35 RBIs, 15 walks, .462 OBP and has scored 31 runs. He has played in 21 games.
