John Wilson penned his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against Kansas. He's now among the select sluggers who have hit three home runs in a game.

In his record-setting day at Tointon Family Stadium the Kansas State third baseman went 3-for-3 with 7 RBIs and scored 4 times in the 11-3 victory over the Jayhawks.

"It was just one of those days," he said in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."

"Wilson was locked in," the Kansas skipper said. "We made some pretty good pitches. Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's pretty hot right now. You've just got to tip your hat."

John Wilson hit a two-run home run off Ron Bartlett in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ron Bartlett in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Glen Miller in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

Thus far this season in 24 games Wilson is batting .257 with 5 home runs, 18 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 19 hits in 74 at-bats.
