Super Swinger -- Carranza Slams 5 Hits Saturday, April 20th, 2024 Next time the Jayhawks might think twice about pitching to Tomás Carranza. Today at Hoglund Ballpark the Villanova center fielder really burned Kansas pitching, going 5-for-6 in the Wildcats 12-10 triumph. "When he's seeing the ball well," his skipper told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded." Tomás Carranza singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Joe Rose in the 9th. On the year Carranza is hitting .347 with 26 hits, 1 home run, 9 RBIs, .437 OBP and has scored 21 runs. |
