Marrero Holds Saskatoon Hitless Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 Mike Marrero made quick work of Saskatoon at Filibertos Field earlier today. The 23-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter for the Chula Vista Tacos in defeating the Smokin' Guns 1-0. "I really didn't have my best stuff today," he admitted after the game, "there's a lot of luck involved in throwing a no-hitter. Some days it's better to be lucky than good." In a superlative outing he registered 12 strikeouts and 2 walks. Luck or not, Marrero will go down in history and will get his name written down in the league record book. To date this season Marrero has compiled a 2-2 record with a 3.38 ERA in 6 starts. |
