APL's Best Hurler is Santiago Friday, October 17th, 2025 The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2025 has been presented and the Appalachian League winner is Pedro Santiago of Nantucket. "It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Santiago. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Orcas star told reporters. Santiago excelled with an impressive 20-6 record in 50 starts. In 262.2 innings he yielded 199 hits and 59 walks, while striking out 318 and compiling a fine 2.88 ERA. George Nelson of the Nantucket Orcas finished second in voting, while Raymond Gregg of the Scottsdale Scorpions finished third. |
