Big Day for Villa: Swats 6 Hits Sunday, September 21st, 2025 After the Nantucket 38-5 victory over Pensacola and his 6-hit day third baseman Anastasio Villa told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 20-year-old player gained that distinction today at Pilot Field with a spectacular 6 for 6 game against the Pensacola Pilots. The skipper of the Orcas spoke glowingly of Villa, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Anastasio did that to perfection today." Anastasio Villa singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in a run in th e 6th, walked in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Thus far this season in 109 games Villa is batting .306 with 13 home runs, 74 RBIs and 54 runs scored. He has 86 hits in 281 at-bats. |
