Appalachian League Winner is Rodríguez
Monday, September 15th, 2025
Matt Rodríguez must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .500 clip, then the Kenosha third baseman finds out he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the APL Player of the Week Award.
He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too."
For the week Rodríguez batted .500 (10-for-20) with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs.
Rodríguez is presently hitting at a .225 pace with 13 home runs and 79 RBIs. He has played in 142 games and scored 71 times.
