Athens's Torrez Takes 2024 Outstanding Hitter Award Sunday, October 13th, 2024 The future looks extremely bright for Aurelio Torrez. At the age of 25, many players are still trying to find their way in Appalachian League. Torrez has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Appalachian League Outstanding Hitter Award. "I didn't expect to hit .294 this year, that's for sure," the left fielder said. The Athens Assassins star also put up a .473 on-base percentage this year, with 150 hits, 46 doubles, 8 triples, 28 home runs, 132 RBIs and 123 runs scored. Peter Hensley of the Beaverton Bronze Souls finished second in voting, while Domingo Romero of the Savannah Hogs finished third. |
