Ignacio Hernández Forced To Retire, Suffers Another Setback Tuesday, September 9th, 2025 Ignacio Hernández's baseball career is almost certainly over according to his doctors. The 20-year-old State College Spikes reliever was given the dreadful news after suffering a setback in his rehabilitation from a ulnar nerve irritation. A Spikes team official, speaking unofficially, was quoted by reporters as saying, "For all intents and purposes, his career is over." Taking a look at his season, Hernández has made 23 relief appearances, recorded 2 saves and compiled a 1-2 won-lost mark and a 3.63 ERA. In pitching 39.2 innings, he has totaled 47 strikeouts and 32 walks. |
