Appalachian League Announces Best Starter Friday, August 1st, 2025 The Appalachian League scribes have selected July's Pitcher of the Month and have awarded the honor to Salvador Castro of Detroit. He was outstanding on the hill last month and has the numbers to prove it -- a 5-0 record. The Dirty Snow star performer made 5 starts with a 0.00 ERA and surrendered 22 hits in 30 innings. He struck out 36 and walked 5. Castro has a 9-3 season record so far. In 18 starts, he has fanned 110 batters in 97.2 innings with a 2.49 ERA. |
