Leslie Nabs MSL Outstanding Hitter Award
Monday, October 20th, 2025
At the age of 23, J.J. Leslie of the Plumstead Eagles could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2025 was good enough to win the right fielder the Midwest League Outstanding Hitter Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .341 batting average this year, as well as a .438 on-base percentage. He played 125 games and racked up 124 hits, 24 doubles, no triples, 24 home runs, 83 RBIs and 72 runs scored.
Mike Pearson of the Erie Jaxx finished second in voting, while Ricardo Arévalo of the Wisconsin Rapids Rangers finished third.
