Power Pitching Ravaged by Payne Wednesday, June 12th, 2024 The BlackIron Dragons upended the West Virginia Power at Paradise Park today in large part to shortstop Eugene Payne, who had a smashing day with the bat -- he racked up 6 hits in 7 at-bats -- and help propel the Dragons to a 16-2 victory. Eugene Payne doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the season Payne is batting .265 with 13 hits and no home runs. He has scored 4 times and batted in 9. |
