Harmon Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Key West
Monday, August 25th, 2025
Late in the game Diablos third baseman Arnold Harmon stepped into the batter box with his 21-game hitting streak on the line. Up to then he was without a hit. Sadly it just wasn't to be -- Harmon did not get a hit -- and his streak was finally over. The Barracudas had stopped him, not allowing him a hit in 5 at-bats. However, Santa Fe won the game 5-0.
"Winning the game took some of the disappointment out of it," Harmon told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 21 straight games. It's something I will always remember."
This year Harmon has 14 home runs and a .346 batting average.
