Houston Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Missions
Saturday, May 24th, 2025
Mile High third baseman Bill Houston sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Houston predicted he would hit a home run against the San Jose Missions.
During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Broncos over the Missions 6-3.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Houston told reporters after the game.
To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
Bill Houston grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Francisco Arellano in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Francisco Arellano in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jerry Poole in the 7th.
Houston is batting .288 with 9 home runs and 20 RBIs this season.
