Friday, October 24th, 2025
A pitcher being voted the most valuable player in his league is a rare feat, and this year it did indeed happen. The 2025 Pacific Coast League Outstanding Hitter Award has gone to Houston Hammertime ace Norberto Méndez after a stellar 21-5 season.
In 33 starts he piled up 212.2 innings, 183 strikeouts, 62 walks and a 3.17 ERA. Méndez held opposing hitters to a .240 batting average and compiled a 5.0 WAR along the way.
Juan Barrera of the Lansing Lugnuts finished second in voting, while Fernando Camacho of the Houston Hammertime finished third.
