Smith Pitches Richmond to Shutout Victory Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 John Smith of Richmond easily handled the Otsego Bulldogs, stopping them on 3 hits and chucking a complete-game 5-0 shutout. "He really did a job on us," said the Otsego manager. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and pretty much confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us." Smith said, "Everything was working for me. Throwing my breaking stuff over the plate was big." He finished the game with 10 strikeouts and no walks in a solid outing. This year Smith has fanned 107 in 109.2 innings and collected a 7-3 record with a 3.28 ERA. |
