Best NL Reliever Named
Tuesday, November 18th, 2025
The Baffin Island Beavers will no doubt have to pony up some big cash if they want to keep star reliever Manny Sandoval.
That's because the 29-year-old today was named the National League Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2025.
As it stands now, he's heading for free agency unless his team can put forward an extension offer. As of yet, there's been no word about an impending deal.
Sandoval captured the award with a 0.98 ERA this season over 82.2 innings of work. He made 74 relief appearances and had 41 saves, 111 strikeouts, 19 walks and a record of 7 and 2. Opposing hitters managed only a .124 against him.
Esteban Juárez of the Niagara Falls Frenzy finished second in voting, while Mike Fisher of the Irvine Gang Green finished third.
