Baffin Island Takes League Championship Friday, October 31st, 2025 Chris Bates said he didn't even realize he had been having that good of a League Championship, until he was told his own statistics. Those stats show the Baffin Island Beavers hitter putting up a .391 average with 1 home runs, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. It all adds up to his team advancing to the BSA Championship, with a 4-2 series win over the Irvine Gang Green. "I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along. I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it," he said, after the series victory had become official with a 2-1 triumph at Beaver Dam. Bates may not be paying close attention to his stats, but Baseball Stars Association will certainly be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue. "I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said. The Baffin Island Beavers will play against the Greenville 84s in the next round. Greenville won their series against the Toronto Titans 4 games to 1. The BSA Championship schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes. |
