Career-Ending Injury for Champagne
Saturday, June 21st, 2025
The baseball career of San Francisco's Charles-Antoine Champagne abruptly ended today in the game against the New Orleans Looters at The Bayou at Heineken Field. The 31-year-old left fielder sustained a severe injury making a defensive play, suffering a fractured skull and will not play again.
His doctor described the injury to reporters and said, "On a scale of one to three, it was a four. It was off the chart."

Batting .268 to date, Champagne has 14 home runs and 33 RBIs.
