Davis Blisters Evans HS Saturday, May 11th, 2024 What a day for Jack Davis of the Overland Park HS Triplets! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Evans HS pitching apart at Engines Ballpark and sparked the Triplets to a 16-2 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Davis told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Jack Davis hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Joe Byrd in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. To date this year Davis is batting .351 with 5 home runs. |
