Atkins Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 The Chieftans proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Tigers 9-4, but Aaron Atkins continued his god-like hitting as he collected 1 hit and ran his hitting streak to 20 games. When asked about his torrid-hitting first baseman, the Masconomet HS skipper said, "Atkins is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Atkins was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." Aaron Atkins flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. This season Atkins is batting .289 with 4 home runs. |
