Jones Slams 5 Hits for Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central HS Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central HS third baseman Bruce Jones could do no wrong in today's 24-0 win over the Spanish Fork HS as he collected 5 hits. "In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Spanish Fork HS said to the press corps after the game. Jones agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Bruce Jones singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This season Jones is batting .526 with 20 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 11 times and has 10 RBI. |
