Vogel Blisters Dublin Jerome HS Sunday, April 7th, 2024 Nick Vogel exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Mudcats Ballpark. The Bishop Verot HS third baseman had a field day in the 16-3 triumph over the Dublin Jerome HS Celtics, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Vogel must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Nick Vogel singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, walked in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off António González in the 8th. Vogel is hitting .419 in 2024 with 7 RBIs and 3 home runs. |
