Patterson Goes on Rampage Against Tigers
Saturday, May 20th, 2023
Rutgers first baseman John Patterson put on quite a show at Bainton Field with a big 5-hit day in the 7-5 victory over the Clemson Tigers. In the postgame interview, he said with a smile, "Not a bad day at the plate, 5 for 5.. Wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average ... and my salary, too." John Patterson singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

This year Patterson has socked 62 hits in 176 at-bats for a .352 average with 11 home runs. He is getting on base at a .433 pace and his totals also include 28 RBIs and 33 runs scored.
